CGK-43 CNC Carbon Electrode Double-End Boring and Facing Machine
Both Ends Bored and Faced in One Setup
The CGK-43 prepares large carbon electrodes with parallel end faces and centered holes before downstream threading.
Before large carbon electrodes can be threaded, both end faces must be flat and perpendicular to the axis, and both center holes must be accurately located. The CGK-43 performs double-end boring and facing in one clamping, so the two end faces share the same datum and the holes remain coaxial. Dual 75 kW main motors deliver the power needed for heavy cuts on electrodes up to Φ1200 mm, while automatic end-face floating positioning, a crack-prevention hydraulic chuck and integrated dust collection keep perpendicularity within 0.06 mm and protect the workshop environment.

Six capabilities that make the CGK-43 productive on large carbon electrodes.
Double-End Boring & Facing
Both end faces are faced and both center holes are bored in one clamping, so the faces are parallel and the holes are coaxial from the same datum.
Dual 75 kW Main Drives
Two 75 kW motors deliver the torque needed to bore and face large-diameter carbon electrodes without stalling or tearing the surface.
Automatic End-Face Floating Positioning
The machine references the workpiece end face automatically with a floating system, compensating for blank-length variation and setting the machining datum correctly.
Crack-Prevention Hydraulic Chuck
A single-action or three-jaw hydraulic chuck clamps the outer diameter with the clamping point set inside the bore, reducing the risk of cracking brittle carbon electrodes.
Two-Axis CNC with Safety Logic
The CNC system provides travel-limit protection, software and hardware limit protection, fault detection and alarm functions for safe unattended operation.
Built-In Dust Collection & Lubrication
A dust hood with two extraction ports captures carbon dust at the source, while circulating oil cooling and automatic lubrication protect the spindle bearings, guideways and ball screws.
Why Choose the CGK-43
Against separate boring and facing operations, the CGK-43 wins on datum accuracy, power and integration.
One-Datum End Geometry
Both ends are machined in one clamping, so end-face-to-thread-center perpendicularity stays within 0.06 mm without cumulative setup error.
Heavy Dual Motor Power
Dual 75 kW drives handle the heavy boring and facing loads of large carbon electrodes up to Φ1200 mm in diameter.
Brittle-Material Clamping
The hydraulic chuck clamps the outer diameter while the clamping point sits inside the bore, reducing clamping stress on carbon electrodes.
Cleaner, Safer Workshop
A cutter dust hood with two suction ports captures carbon dust at the source, while automatic lubrication and cooling extend spindle and drive life.
High Automation
Except for loading and unloading, all motions are automatic, including end-face floating positioning, boring/facing cycles and fault monitoring.
Configurable for the Plant
A coolant system can be added on request, and the CNC program library stores profiles for different electrode specifications.
