CGK-90 / CGK-90S CNC Worm Grinder
Precision Grinding for Worms and Lead Screws
The CGK-90 and CGK-90S cover the full range of cylindrical worm profiles used in power transmission, steering systems and linear-motion drives.
The CGK-90 / CGK-90S is an eight-axis CNC worm grinder designed for finish-grinding cylindrical worms, trapezoidal lead screws and ball screws. Workpiece rotation and longitudinal table movement are interpolated to generate the thread helix, while a diamond-disc dresser trims the grinding-wheel profile under CNC control. Full closed-loop feedback on the table, wheel carriage and headstock rotary axes keeps pitch, lead angle and profile within Class 4–5 worm accuracy, with surface roughness down to Ra 0.32 μm. The CGK-90 offers 850 mm between centers for longer worms; the CGK-90S offers a 500 mm compact configuration for shorter, high-volume parts.

Eight CNC axes and closed-loop feedback give the CGK-90 series the accuracy and flexibility worm manufacturers need.
Eight-Axis CNC Worm Grinding
Eight CNC axes with three-axis simultaneous interpolation control workpiece rotation, table travel, wheel-carriage motion and rotary orientations.
Diamond-Disc Wheel Dressing
A diamond-disc dresser trims the wheel profile through two-axis CNC interpolation, controlled by dedicated worm-profile dressing routines.
Built-In Wheel Spindle Motor
The grinding-wheel spindle is driven by a built-in AC permanent-magnet synchronous motor for smooth high-speed rotation and fast response.
Full Closed-Loop Control
Precision linear scales on table longitudinal and wheel-carriage transverse axes, plus an angle encoder on the headstock, provide full closed-loop positioning.
Broad Worm Profile Coverage
Grinds ZN, ZA, ZI, ZK and ZC1 cylindrical worms, and is equally suited to trapezoidal screws and ball screws.
Automatic Dressing Compensation
Wheel-carriage transverse movement automatically compensates dressing amount, keeping wheel profile and part size stable across batches.
Why Choose the CGK-90 / CGK-90S
A dedicated worm grinder outperforms general-purpose thread grinders on profile accuracy, surface finish and worm-specific kinematics.
Class 4–5 Worm Accuracy
Achieves Class 4 accuracy for 1–2 start worms and Class 5 for 3+ start worms, meeting precision transmission and measurement requirements.
Mirror Surface Finish
Thread surface roughness reaches Ra≤0.32 μm, reducing friction and extending the life of mating worm wheels and nuts.
Between-Centers Clamping
Workpieces locate on center holes and clamp between headstock and tailstock; a steady rest supports long shafts to control deflection.
Wide Pitch Range
Metric thread pitches from 1 mm to 24 mm and imperial threads from 3 to 24 TPI cover standard and specialty worm specifications.
±40° Lead Angle
A maximum lead angle of ±40° handles both shallow-pitch and steep-helix worms in a single setup.
Two Length Configurations
CGK-90 with 850 mm between centers for long worms, and CGK-90S with 500 mm for compact, high-volume production cells.
